The behavior described can be annoying if I am only interested in the actual game line. The progam has the ability to toggle stepping into variations, shich I consider a nice feature, because sometimes I want to step into them, while others I want to look at the game line. How hard would it be to toggle the stopping of the five move based on this same flag?
To be clear:
If the user has pressed the 'step into variations' button so that stepping one move at a time steps into the variation, to stop the 5 move jump at the move where the variation appears.
If the user has not pressed it (or pressed it again to turn off variation stepping) to step over the variation as though it did not exist (which more closely matches the one step mechanism...5 step actually is then 5 one steps... along the game line.

Also, the initial state of variation stepping (on or off) should be settable like the board flip is settable.

Just my two cents worth for the next version. Thanks.
