Has anyone had success using PalView with SSI?

In attempting this with PalMate, and modifying the PalView ini file directly, I have not been able to get PalView to correctly generate a page for use with SSI.

I have tinkered with files generated as Normal View, and found a way to successfully modify the pages for use by SSI. The process is fairly straight forward, but it requires hand massaging each file, which I would rather not have to do.

I have two example pages--
Page 1 included in the web site:
http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/tutor.shtml
Page 1 by itself:
http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/stable/2002_12_1.html

Page2 2 included in the web site:
http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/master.shtml
Page 2 by itself:
http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/lpoint/2002_11.html

http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/bestmove/2002_12_1.html
If you would like to see the pages by them selves
http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/stable/2002_11_1.html

http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/stable/2002_12_1.html

http://knightwatchman.netfirms.com/lessons/lpoint/2002_11.html

As a side note, I would rather have the common javascript code in a common file.

Any suggestions, advice?
